Robert A. Nelson

Robert Nelson, age 53, passed away surrounded by family at St. Lukes Hospital on April 24, 2021. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 18, 1967 to Loren Nelson Jr. and Frances (Dowell) Reed. Robert attended Whitmer High School and later went on to receive his GED. He worked for J.B. Hunt as a Truck Driver and Automatic Handling as a Welder. Robert loved to be with family, especially his grandchildren. He had many hobbies that kept him busy, such as a love for old bikes and drawing. He was a very creative man as he enjoyed taking old things and making them new. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mary (Halliday) Nelson; his children, Penny Wandtke (Eric Wandtke), Mark Halliday (Lynette Halliday), Nicole Bradfield, and Logan Fahey; mother, Frances Reed; brother, Loren Nelson III (Amy Nelson); grandchildren, Dominic Halliday, William Bradfield III, Emily Bradfield, Grayson Fahey and Charlie Fahey; nieces, Dannielle Dickens (Eddy James Dickens) and Audrina Watson; great-niece and nephews Eddy Dickens, Sawyer Dickens and Arley Dickens; and many close friends. Robert was proceeded in death by his father, Loren Nelson Jr. and step-father, Ronald Reed. Robert’s wishes were not to have a memorial but a celebration of life which will be announced at a future date.
