Robert Kenneth "Ken" Lee

Robert Kenneth "Ken" Lee, 88, of Holland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. 2 Timothy 4:7 states: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

He was born on January 13, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, to Clarence and Bessie Lee.

He accepted Jesus at the young age of 15. He began praying for a Christian girlfriend, and while attending church, Ken met the love of his life, Shirley. They were united in marriage and shared 64 beautiful years together, built on unwavering love, faith, and devotion. Their life together reflected a deep commitment to one another and a strong foundation of Christian faith.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and friend. Together they raised four children: sons Kevin (Cindy) Lee and the late Jeffrey (Jane) Lee, and daughters Brenda (Walter) Engh and Karen (Bob) Allgier. They were blessed with 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Ken is also survived by his sisters Donna Fligor and Cindy (Alfre) Cañas, as well as nieces and extended family.

Ken proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a certified pharmacy technician. Following his military service, he worked at Owens-Illinois in the Engineering Department. He later worked at Libbey Glass as an engineering technician, from which he eventually retired.

He touched the hearts of everyone he met and will be forever remembered for his strong Christian faith, loving and generous heart, and deep devotion to his family. He found great joy in spending time with those he loved and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His life was guided by faith, integrity, and service to others.

He was an avid gardener, always giving to family and friends. Always willing to share his "secret" tips for a successful garden, especially his six-foot patio tomato plants.

Ken's life has been renewed as he was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, where there is no more suffering and no more pain. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed. Those who loved him will find comfort in knowing he has received his "crown of righteousness."

Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Lee; son, Jeffrey Lee; brother, James Lee; and sisters, Linda Beardsley and Phyllis Ann Lee.

Services will be on Thursday, August 13, at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 4930 Flanders Rd, Toledo, Ohio. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00, with services from 11:00-12:00. A celebration of life for both Ken and Shirley will be held, as Shirley passed during the COVID. A graveside ceremony will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, where Ken and Shirley will be laid to rest together.

John 16:22"So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy."
