Robert "Bob" Jones

Robert “Bob” Bryson Jones, age 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the Lakes of Sylvania. He was born on October 5, 1934 to Clarence and Margaret (Cashman) Jones in Toledo. Bob married the love of his life, Theresa A. (Smith) Jones on September 21, 1974 in Toledo at Augsburg Lutheran Church.

Bob attended Whittier Grade School and graduated from DeVilbiss High School. Upon graduation, he served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 in the Presidential Honor Guard for Dwight D. Eisenhower and remained in the Army reserves for 4 years afterward. Bob retired as a Grinder from The Dana Corporation on May 1, 1993 after 31+ years of loyal service. He was also a member of the AMVET Post 63 where his wife was a former President.

After retirement, he enjoyed watching football and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He also liked watching soap operas and MASH reruns and really looked forward to visits from his sons and grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, John Jones; sons, Robert (Lisa) Jones, Dave (Annette) Jones, John (Susan) Jones and Dan Jones; grandchildren, Jennifer (Daniel) Duffourg, Michael (Maia) Jones, Katie (Alex) Henry, Robert (Anita) Jones, John (Cara) Jones, Kierstyn Jones, Mitchell Jones, Kelsey Jones, Mason Jones; and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Jones, of 44 years; sisters, Ruby Cogswell, Barbara Rosenburg; and brother, Jimmy Jones.

A military graveside memorial service will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, 4210 Central Avenue, Toledo on Friday, May 3rd at 2:45 p.m.
