Robert James Herron

Robert James Herron of Lima, Ohio (Formerly Port Huron, MI) went peacefully to meet his creator after a lengthy illness at home. He was a devout messenger of God and had anxiously awaited an everlasting life filled with the promise of his word and no pain or afflictions. Robert, (Bob/Bobby), traveled all around this great country and never missed an opportunity to minister Gods word to anyone who would lend an ear. He would tell many stories of the men and women whose lives were changed, not by his words, but by receiving Christ through him.” Robert served in the U.S. Army as a cook.” He could fill a belly with great food and a heart with laughter with his quick wit and sense of humor.” He was the first to admit he was not yet perfected, but forgiven.” In his final years he mended old wounds and reunited with his daughters.” Knowing them and the strong, independent women they had become brought him tremendous joy. Robert is survived by his daughters, Patricia Herron-Stringer (Edward), Tammy Kuzma-Ouellette (Dennis), Ashley Heinz, Rebecca Nowiski-Reynolds (Max), son, Robert Wheeler, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother Frank M Herron (Nancy), sister Tammy Parker (Bill) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest D Jeannie G Herron and his brother Daniel D Herron. Arrangement were handled by the Cremation Society of Toledo.” A service will be held on March 11th at 11:00 am at Cross Current Church located at 1641 Garfield Street, Port Huron, MI” 48060
