Robert Herrick

Robert Paul Herrick, age 86 years old, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Vibrant Life Assisted Living, under care from Elara Caring Hospice. Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, after honorably completing 6 years of service, from October 3, 1957, to October 2, 1963. Robert carried a strong work ethic and believed in being the best provider for his family. He was employed with Henry Ford Woodhaven Stamping Plant and retired after 41.5 years of employment. Robert could often be found reading the bible, fishing, playing crossword puzzles, word searches, and solitaire. He made sure to always stay active; assisting with transporting neighbors to appointments, getting groceries, helping with gardening, and lending a hand on his cousin, Juniors, dairy farm. He took great joy in helping with his grandchildren, house sitting to care for pets, and he could always be seen with his beloved dog, Puppet.

Robert Paul Herrick was born on July 31, 1937, in Albion, Michigan, the son of Virgil and Ella (Parker) Herrick. Both parents precede him in death.

Left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Janet (Herrick) Anderson, Kathleen (Herrick) Coburn, Phyllis (Herrick) Robinson, and their children and grandchildren; children from former union to Bonita (Henrich) Herrick, Lucy Herrick, Amy (Rebecca Kincaid) Herrick, Daniel (Angela) Herrick, Natalie (Scott) Riffle; 8 grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Andrew, Richard (Sarah) Lang, EricaRae, Adam, Deven, and Marcus. In addition to his parents, Virgil, and Ella, those preceding Robert in death include siblings, Lloyd Herrick, and Janice (Herrick) Shave.

Graveside services are scheduled for May 3, 2024, at Great Lakes National Cemetery. A private Celebration of life will be held on May 4, 2024.
