Robert K. Davis Speece, age 78, of Wauseon, Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017, after a long battle with heart and lung disease. He was born in Bluffton, Indiana on April 16, 1939, the son of Robert and Wanda (Ulmer) Davis. Bob served his country in the United States Marine Corp from April 19, 1956 to September 23, 1966 as a Radio Telegraph Operator. After his enlistment he was self employed in the sewing business, where he made draperies, boat canvases and did upholstering. An ardent do-it-yourselfer, he was extremely creative and talented; the one everyone called because they swore he knew everything. Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. In addition to his Marine Corp pride, he had a huge love for animals, enjoyed cooking, and loved talk radio. Surviving are his wife Marty (Stone) Davis; his daughters Bobbi Davis Compton, Kristine Liner, and Kathi (Johnny) Flores; his son Nicholas (Trish) Trimble; his sister Sharon Osborn; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is predeceased in death by his daughter, Antoinette Speece. Visitation will be held at Edgar Grisier Funeral Homes, 219 S. Fulton Street, Wauseon, Ohio on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 1:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 3:00 PM with military honors. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Bob to the Toledo Area Humane Society at toledohumane.org.
