Robert G. Clayton Jr. of Perrysburg died on May 25, 2010. He was born in Cincinnati in 1930 to Helen and Robert G. Clayton Sr. He attended Hughes High School. After graduation he attended the University of Cincinnati. From there he joined the Marines, and fought in the Korean conflict, an association he was very proud of. While serving in Korea he decided he wanted to attend law school. He sent applications from overseas and was accepted at numerous institutions, but again chose the University of Cincinnati. Upon graduation from Law school he was awarded a fellowship to the University of Michigan. In 1957 he joined the Toledo law firm of Shumaker, Loop and Kendrick where he enjoyed great success as a corporate litigator. He retired from that firm in 1998. After retirement he lived for his time with his family and warm weather in which he could garden and fish!Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years Joanne, and his niece Katherine Clayton of Cincinnati.He is survived by his daughter Kathleen, and his son Douglass (Jennifer), and his grandchildren Brady and Josee as well as his brother Donald (June) and his nieces Barbara and Christy and their families.
