Robert James Chizmar, “Chiz”, age 64 of the old south end in Toledo, Ohio. He passed away at home with his family by his side on April 10, 2023. Chiz was born on May 6, 1958, in Oregon, Ohio, the youngest of 11 children.
He was preceded in death by his parents Emery and Marjorie Chizmar; his 9 bothers and sisters; and his brother-in-law, Jimmy Dickens. Chiz is survived by his wife, Diana; their children, Jeff and Emily (Zak); granddaughter, Emery who was his pride and joy; brother, Mike (Carole) Chizmar; and mother-in-law, Mary.
Chiz worked hard at his job for 25 years at UPS. He was a great cook who loved to share his Hungarian heritage with his yash and chicken paparikash. The 4th of July was his favorite holiday. Chiz was known for his fireworks and entertained his neighbors, family, and friends with displays for over 40 years. He was always seen driving his truck. Chiz loved being outside in the sun working in his garden planting his favorite flowers and saffron, along with caring for the family pool.
Chiz left his family too soon!
Special thanks to his friend and neighbor, Dave martin, who helped during this time. Special thanks to his neighbors the Frano Family, who had a firework display in his memory the night of his passing. Special thanks to his nurse, Michelle from Ohio Living Hospice. In his memory donations can be given to Ohio Living Hospice. Please join the family on May 13, from 3-6 pm for a memorial benefit dinner at Sts Peter and Paul Church, 728 S. St Clair Street.
