Robert Bell Benson, Jr.

April 20, 1949 — March 5, 2012

Robert Bell Benson Jr., 62 of Toledo, Ohio “Bob” -born Robert Bell Benson Jr. on April 20, 1949 in Seattle, Washington. First child of the late Robert Bell Benson Sr. and the late Martha Ann Krupp, died March 5, 2012 at the University of Toledo Medical Center, after an extended illness. Bob began his service in the US Marine Corps on November 6, 1967, and did a tour in Viet Nam. He was transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve August 28, 1971 and was stationed in Glenview, Illinois. He received his Honorable Discharge from the Core on August 20, 1973. When the company he worked for in Illinois closed he was offered a position which lead to the move to Toledo, Ohio. In 2008, that company closed and he went from working on computers to driving 18 wheelers for US Xpress Enterprisers, Inc. Surviving are three sisters, who will miss deeply this gentle, kind man, Mrs. Betsy B DeVault (Tony) of Hemingway, South Carolina; Mrs. Nancy Inman of Greenville, South Carolina; and Mrs. Susan Urick of Seattle, Washington. Surviving nieces and nephews, Robert White (Ayumi), Patricia Hammond, Angela Jametsky, and Timothy Urick. Along with several great nieces and nephews. To know my brother, would be most fortunate, as he was such a kind man with deep convictions. He was concerned about the troubles of this world, and often talked of things that could be done to help. He did so enjoy to bring a smile to those he loved and knew. Like sending chocolate covered strawberries, or a flower that danced by solar, or just some goodies of some kind for the lucky one to enjoy. He didnt want attention for himself, just enjoyed bringing it to others. To know my brother as I do, Oh, how I wish all had one like him.
