Rita A. Mccarthy

Rita McCarthy, daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, friend, nurse, grandmother, great- grandmother, and artist in her creative cooking, painting, and many hobbies. She lived her life with passion and a fierce love of her family.

She was born in Put-in-Bay, OH and traveled to the mainland by plane with her beloved St. Bernard. Rita married the love of her life, Paul McCarthy, and by his side built a cottage which they enjoyed for over 70 years.

She leaves behind her children, Tim (Vickie) McCarthy, Colleen (Paul) Anderson, Chris (Julie) McCarthy; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, and friends and family to cherish many beautiful memories of a life well lived, always filled with Irish laughter surrounding her.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023, with visitation starting at 10 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or Shriner's Children's Hospital.
