Rita J Byers

Rita Jane Byers age 90, of Toledo(Point Place) Passed away peacefully with her beloved cat, (Cali) by her side in her home on May 2,2022. Rita was a loving and devoted wife of 62 years to Charles Byers who preceded her in death in 2014. Rita and Charles were avid and beautiful skiers traveling all over the world to enjoy their hobby. They also enjoyed cruising. Rita worked over 30 years at Owens Illinois as an executive secretary, a career she enjoyed and was very proud of.Rita is survived by her granddaughters, Tracy(Robert) Seifert and Marcy(Johnny) Rodgers, Nieces, Amy Chauvette, Karen (Gerry) Jeremy, Pamela Posce, Nephew, Thomas (Lisa) Posce and many other family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles, and step daughter Sharon Lee Byers. The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff members of ProMedica Hospice who helped grant Rita’s last wish of staying in her home during her final journey here on earth and for their wonderful care and compassion not just to Rita, but for her family as well. In honoring Rita’s wishes, there be no visitation, but a private graveside service.
