Richard M. Servé

Richard M. Servé, age 77, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, with his friend and co-worker, John Jett by his side. He was a life long resident of Toledo, Ohio, and was a 1964 graduate of E. L. Bowsher High School. Richard was a veteran of the Army and the National Guard of Ohio, which he proudly served and was honorably discharged from. He talked about the army as some of the best days of his life. Richard worked many jobs in his life but found the one he loved best was a security guard at the Toledo Blade. He made a group of friends that he cherished up until he died.

Richard was born August 20, 1946, son of Richard Michael and Mary Ellen Servé.

Richard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Susan; one son, Jeffrey Servé; one daughter, Mary (Edward) Ziemke; one sister, Barbara (Patrick) Servé; one brother, Robert (Julia) Servé; and his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, James Michael Servé, who passed on October 17, 2023.

Per Richard’s request, there will be no service or memorial.
