Richard Edgar Mccall

Richard McCall, 81, formerly of Merrillville, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home in Pemberville, Ohio on December 6, 2023.

Richard was born on October 30, 1942, at his home in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late Elmer and Wealtha Mae (Miller) McCall.

Richard was proceeded in death by his parents; siblings, John, Charles, James, Gene, Marion, and Mildred; mother and father-in-law John and Helen Drop.

Richard is survived by his wife, Nancy (Drop) of fifty-seven years; daughter, Kim (Tim) Kiefer of Perrysburg, OH; granddaughter, Claire Kiefer of Cincinnati, OH; brother, Don (Judy) McCall of TN; sister-in-law, Dolores “Dee” Hutchens of Merrillville, IN; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a great-great nephew.

He was a 1962 graduate of Gary Indiana, Horace Mann High School. After graduation, Richard went into the United States Air Force where he served until his Honorable discharge. He worked for Carpetland as an independent installer and went on to work and retire from Merrillville Public Works. He served on Merrillville’s Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the F.O.P.

To honor Richard’s wishes, there were no services held.

Richard’s family would like to thank Otterbein Pemberville CNP, nurses and aides in taking special care, Ashanti Hospice nurses and social workers as you will forever have a place in our heart. Thank you, all the special friends that have stopped, sent cards, flowers, and provided words of comfort.
