Richard Lamson Jeffers, 75, passed away on December 12, 2020 at St. Lukes surrounded by his devoted children. Richard was born May 11, 1945 to Howard and Caroline (Lamson) Jeffers in Toledo, Ohio. He attended Grand Rapids school from k-12. He was a star athlete and enjoyed micro midget racing. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Rich worked in the automotive industry his entire life. Managing parts and service departments in Ohio and Southern California. While living in CA, he became involved with CRA sprint car community. The highlight of his career was working as a crew member for the “Tamale Wagon”. He never did retire driving for Charlies Dodge, enjoying the friendships and staying active right up to becoming ill with COVID-19. Our father was a man of his word, funny, selfless, easy going and an all-around good guy! He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Margaret Clouser. He is survived by his loving partner of 40 years Esto Jeffers of CA, children Lonnie (Tom) Keller, Matt (Christine) Jeffers, Cale Jeffers of OH, Sheala (Ryan) Larimer of CA, Aaron Jeffers of WA, grandchildren Nicole Quate, Jessica Quate, Lindsay Kruse and Samantha Avaritt all of Ohio. Thank you to family and friends, coast to coast. Also thank you to St. Lukes ICU COVID-19 Unit. Per Richs wishes, Cremation Society of Toledo assisted us during this difficult time. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in his memory in the summer. Memorial donations welcome to any Veterans organization. RIP Ironman, you are relieved of your watch.
