Richard L. Griffin, Jr.

Richard L. Griffin, Jr., age 71, died unexpectedly on February 19, 2021 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born on November 7, 1949 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Richard L. Griffin, Sr. and Ethel Lucille Swain. Richard has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and served 15 courageous months in the United States Marines where he was honorably discharged and obtained the Bronze Star Medal. Through Richard’s life, he always prided himself on being a Parole Officer for the State of Ohio. He truly believed in that everyone deserves a second chance and he would do anything in his power to assist his clients to achieve their goals. In addition to his parents, many brothers and sisters predecease him. Surviving are his longtime girlfriend and best friend, Deborah Tucker; his children, Richard, Leann, Rachel, Sean, Joseph and Chantel ; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, all whom he loved dearly. His sister, Mildred and many nieces and nephews also survive him. We will truly miss him and will always carry him in our hearts. We want to thank everyone at the University of Toledo Medical Center for the care they provided Richard. Richard was a caring and loving soul who went the extra mile to help anyone and everyone he met. Until we see you again!
