Richard A. Brenner

Richard A. "Dick" Brenner, Age 89 of Toledo, Ohio departed this world on December 13, 2021 at Sunset House – Ashanti Hospice. Dick was born August 5, 1932 to Oscar A. and Ruth M. Brenner in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated with a BS from University of Michigan in 1955 and was married to Geraldine Brenner in 1956. He went on to earn his MD from Ohio State University in 1959, and completed his Internship and Anesthesia residency in 1962 at The Toledo Hospital. He continued with private medical practice of Anesthesia here in Toledo until 1989. "Dick" loved the game of golf and devoted considerable time to both playing and supporting the game. He was a past President of the Toledo District Golf Association and a past President of Inverness Club. While a member of Inverness Club he served as Vice Chairman of the 1979 US Open Championship and as General Chairman of the 1986 PGA Championship. He was a former Club Champion at both Inverness and Harbour Ridge Country Club, Stuart, Florida. Richard is survived by his two sons, Douglas W. (Jennifer) Brenner and James R. (Karen) Brenner. Grandchildren include Christopher A. Brenner, William R. Brenner, Brian J. Brenner and Sarah C. Boyd. Step-grandchildren include Alexander Brenner, Lauren Mangold, Bradden Jozsa, Brandie Sindelar, Ryan Jozsa and Nicholas Jozsa. In accordance with Dick's wishes there will be no church service or showing. His burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests tributes to Sunset House / Ashanti Hospice on Indian Road in Ottawa Hills or Epworth United Methodist Church on Valleyview Drive in Ottawa Hills.
