Richard A. Baker

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard A. Baker, 82 of Toledo, Ohio announce that he passed away January 13, 2022 at Ebeid Hospice with loved ones by his side. Richard was born on May 10, 1939 to Clarence and Marie (Sly) Baker in Bowling Green, OH. He attended Weston Village schools in Weston, OH. After graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and after serving he received an honorable discharge. He worked at Dana and retired after 32 years. Rich always loved a good laugh, pranking people and telling a good joke. Everyone loved his outgoing personality. He was an Elk in good standing for 41 years. Rich will lovingly be remembered by his wife Gwen of 61 years; children Timothy (Shirley) Baker and grandchildren, Justin and Riley of Washington State; Tammy (Michael) Kirkelie and granddaughter Rachael of Eugene, OR; Michele Thees of Toledo, OH and grandchildren, Meredith Thees, and Zach (Sarah) Thees. Great Grandchildren Zoey Bundy and Tyler Thees. He is also survived by his sister Susan Hoile, brothers, Lloyd Baker and Danny Baker. Many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Rich was proceeded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law; grandson, Kyle; so- in-law, Paul Thees; Nan Baker, Bill Baker, Daniel Hoile; and sister, Barbara. Upon Rich’s request there will be no funeral services. May he Rest in Peace. In lieu of flowers donations made to ASPCA of America.
