Ray E. McElheney Jr., 51, of Bowling Green passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 15, 2018. He was born on November 13, 1967 in Toledo to Linda (Nieswander) Ziss and Ray McElheney. Ray graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1987. He then enlisted in the Marine Corps, serving his country from 1989 – 1993. Ray worked as a low voltage electrician and as an access control security system tech. On July 3, 1998 and again on August 27, 2016 he married his best friend, Tammy Duckett, in Bradner. Ray was a previous member of the American Legion in Whitehouse. In his spare time he enjoyed mudding in his “bumpy” truck and shooting his guns. Ray loved cooking and grilling; everyone loved his macaroni & cheese and sausage gravy & biscuits. Most of all he treasured the time he spent with his family and friends. Surviving is his loving wife, Tammy McElheney of Bowling Green; children, Morgan (Samantha) McElheney, Bailey (Cory Engard) McElheney, Jessica (Shawn Pottker) Russell, Zachary Russell, and Victoria (Joshua Parish) Russell; granddaughter, Savannah Marie Parish; mother, Linda Ziss; father Ray (Virena) McElheney; siblings, Gregory (Debbie Campa) McElheney and Douglas (Emily Chiong) McElheney; niece, Maeve McElheney; step-father, Carl (Debbie) Lerch; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ray is preceded in death by his stepfather, Don Ziss. Services for Ray will be private for the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dave Bell and everyone at Turner Electric for everything they have done for Ray and his family.
