Phyllis (known as "Miss Phyllis" by her students) Marie Mikołajczyk Napierala, 76 years old, passed away peacefully at her home in Holland, Ohio on Sunday, March 7, 2021. Attending Our Lady of Lourdes Church, she was a devout Catholic. She earned her Bachelor's degree from Mary Manse College and started her teaching career in 1964 as a grade school teacher and served at several Toledo area parochial schools. For the last 4 ½ years she was a loyal full-time employee of Church Women United Thrift Shop in Holland, a nonprofit organization dedicated to full Christian discipleship, helping the local economy by providing employment and means for people to help themselves. Phyllis often said "God would not take her until she finished all her projects." We believe she finished all her projects and used her gifts to serve the fellow residents of this earth. Her husband Daniel, her father Harry Mikołajczyk and mother Margaret Kehlemier preceded her in death. Her two sisters, Sharon L. Day and Gloria Mikołajczyk, her brothers-in-law Timothy Day, Charles Belfoure, niece Kae Lea Day and nephew Patrick Day survive her. A Memorial mass will be at the 8:15 a.m. Mass on April 23, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. To honor Phyllis' wishes donations may be made to the Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet or to the family in consideration of expenditures for services and interment via Sharon L. Day.
