Phyllis Ann Eggers

February 14, 1936 — January 6, 2024

Phyllis Ann Eggers passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Bay Park Hospital surrounded by family, after an illness. She was 87.


Phyllis was born in Toledo, OH, on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1936. Daughter of John “Jack” and Ada (Ringel) Rathsam. Stepfather Roy A. Galbraith, who she adored.


She attended Sylvania Burnham High School where she met and married William H. Frank (deceased in 1980) and started a family. She was a stay-at-home Mom and raised six children. She was then employed with Champion Spark Plug for many years. She worked various other jobs until her retirement from Lucas County Board of MRDD. She also attended Owens Community College and studied nursing. She then married  Richard L. Eggers on July 1, 1997.

She enjoyed sailing on their sailboat and visiting the Lake Erie Islands. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, enjoyed bird watching, fishing, history and politics.


Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Eggers, Jr.;parents, John “Jack” Rathsam and Ada and Roy Galbraith; brothers, Jack Rathsam and Don Galbraith; and oldest child William W. Frank who passed on September 30,1997. She leaves behind her children Kathy Thompson, Loraine (Pete) Newman, Luanne (Eric) Craft, Ron (Jamie) Frank, and Dan Frank; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; three nieces, and many special friends to include Dan & Kim Robarge, as well as her beloved rescued cat, Freddy.


There will be no public service as the family will honor her privately at a later date.
