Paul V. Mattei

Paul Vincent Mattei, age 53, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025.

Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, and raised in Bath, Ohio, Paul was a devoted father, loving son, and cherished brother. He is survived by his children, Mark Mattei, Josh Mattei, and Sarah (Jacob Prentiss) Mattei, who were the pride and joy of his life. He is also lovingly remembered by his parents, Robert and Janet Mattei; his siblings, Tony (Paula) Mattei, Tim (Debbie) Mattei, Mark (Jen) Mattei, Andy (Heather) Mattei, and Laura (Bob) Davey; as well as by many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Paul.

Paul was known for his generous heart, sharp wit, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, sense of humor, and quiet strength.

A gifted salesman, Paul had extensive knowledge of metal cutting machinery across a wide range of industries, including Automotive, Aerospace, Truck and Off-Road, Die/Mold, Toolroom, and Production. His career was more than just a job—it was a passion through which he formed many lifelong friendships.

Paul had a deep love for golf and believed that any nice day was a perfect day to be on the golf course. Some of his favorite memories were made while golfing with his sons, brothers, and dad. He discovered his love for the game around age 13 or 14 and went on to play for Revere High School, where his team finished second in the state during his senior year. Outside of golfing with his family, one of his most memorable golf experiences was winning a sales award that gave him the opportunity to play at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida—the home of THE PLAYERS Championship—an experience he cherished deeply.

Paul was loved by many and will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
