Patricia Ann Nerenberg entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 16, 2025 after a five month battle with cancer. She was born January 10th, 1947 in Toledo, OH to Harry and Christine (Koonce) Kryspin. She attended school in Toledo and in Pennsylvania. She married Arthur Nerenberg Jr. December 14, 1979 in Toledo, OH. She babysat her grandchildren Scotti and Kayla, was a cashier at Dollar General, and was a housekeeper at St. Luke's Hospital. She attended St. Charles Catholic Church, as well as St. Hyacinth Parish, in Toledo, OH. She always looked forward to catching up with her good friend Deb on their Saturday night rides to church service.
Pat’s short stature earned her the nickname of “chin high” from Art. She may have been short, but it matched perfectly with her feistiness even until the end. Pat faced numerous challenges throughout life, but her strength, drive, and determination always persevered. She had a love for the color blue, butterflies, and animals. She enjoyed taking trips to FL to spend time with family. During the summer, you could find her in the pool that was just big enough for her raft, soaking up the sun's rays.
Often while in the hospital you would hear her talking about all the different foods her family made growing up. She developed a broad palate thanks to her southern and Polish roots. Laughter was contagious to her. As we heard her bicker with her brother and disagree about her driving skills, laughter quickly ensued. She would laugh until it hurt and then ask when he was going to make those famous family perogies for her. Even though these last few months were hard, she was grateful to be surrounded by those she loved.
Pat was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Art; son, Troy Batdorf; step son, Randy Nerenberg Sr.; and fur babies, Monte, Mandy, Cody, and Missy. She is survived by her brother, Richard Kryspin; daughter, Theresa Felix (Todd Williams); step children, Artie Nerenberg (Bill), Ann Johnson (Lyle), Kimberly Glover (Scott), and Eric Nerenberg (Karen); grandchildren, Jimmie, Jenny, Jessie, Scotti, Randy Jr., Gregory, Connor, Kayla, Brittany, Riley, Chelsea, and Mike; great grandchildren, Brookelynne, Brennan, and Leilah; two nieces, a nephew, and cousins. And, last but not least, her beloved fur babies, Cupcake and Princess.
We thank all of the team at Kingston of Sylvania and Hospice of Northwest OH for their care and compassion for Pat during these last few months. Per her wishes there will be no services. Cremation has taken place. Donations can be made in her memory to your local Humane Society.
Her soul is now set free, like the butterfly, to begin a new and beautiful existence. 🦋
