Patricia Pat Markowiak

Patricia J. Pat Markowiak, age 88, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on April 12, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.” She spent her last 7 ” weeks surrounded by family and the most compassionate and caring staff.” Pat was born in Toledo to Clarence and Madaline Vergiels on June 3, 1929. She graduated from Woodward High School in 1947 and continued to gather with classmates monthly for lunch.” Pat married Richard Markowiak in 1952, and enjoyed almost 48 years together until his passing in 2000.” They moved to Leesburg, Florida in retirement, but Pat eventually moved back home.” She worked for LOF and TPS, where she retired in 1991 as a CPO. Preceded in heaven by her parents, husband, brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Lynn Vergiels.” Pat is survived by her son Tom; grandchildren, Kody, Conor, and Bailee; nephews, Jim (Tracy, Chelsea) Vergiels, Dave Vergiels and her cat, Holly. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
