Patricia Layng Billman, 65 of Toledo, Ohio, died Friday, July 5th, 2019 with her family present. She was first born of Robert & Elizabeth Billman, on November 10, 1952 in Duluth, MN. Patt graduated from Bedford High School in 1970. She was very active in the Arts. She played clarinet in the band, sang in the choir and became a member of the International Thespian Society. She remained active in theater as her career for many years. Patt directed ENCORE 72 at BHS. She also wrote and directed a play through the Bedford Players that graced the BHS stage. She was a costumer at the Westgate Dinner Theater, as well as dinner theaters in Florida and New Mexico. Besides living in Minnesota, Ohio and Michigan she spent 10 years living in New York City and another 10 years in California where she experienced more than one earthquake. Patt had a great appreciation for the Arts. Many people have cherished the rocks she painted and the people she fashioned from banister posts. Her extensive collection of c.d.s is evidence of her life-long love of music. There was a great diversity that included Classical, Show tunes, Jazz, and music from different countries. Patt had a love of Australian Zebra Finches and Parakeets and had many “kids” over the years. With all of these attributes, her generosity has to be mentioned. Even on a limited budget she supported various charities. She is survived by Janet Billman, Robert (Mary) Billman, Betty (Fred) Curtis, niece Chistina (Jeff) Westveer, Bobby Billman & great-niece Claire Marie Westveer. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the BHS Drama Department. A Homecoming Celebration will take place in in August.
