They resided in Toledo, OH; Satellite Beach, FL; Berne, IN,; and finally Port Clinton, Ohio where they enjoyed spending time on the porch with their wonderful Tenth Street neighbors who became as close as family.
In Jean’s final weeks she was cared for in the home of her generous neighbors Tom & Chris Smit, with daughter Bridget by her side. Jean & Big Lou had formed a special loving relationship with Tom & Chris over their years in Port Clinton.
Fond memories of Jean include her strong faith in Jesus; her ready laughter; calling it as she saw it, no matter who you were; Tim Horton’s Fresh coffee; her loving support of her husband Lou and all of her extended family & friends. She was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed spending time in her kitchen trying new recipes. Jean was a beautiful, opinionated, funny, generous and spunky Irish woman. She will be missed by many.
