Nichola Joanne Toomey-Hart

Nichola Joanne Toomey-Hart, age 48, of Temperance, MI, passed away January, 18, 2020. Nichola was born in Plymouth, England on January 8, 1972 to Phillip and Carol Hart, and grew up in Southampton, England. Nichola truly loved life. She was a free spirited, kind hearted soul. Wealth and fame never impressed her, amongst celebrities she encountered, some while dog training. The simplest of things would warm her heart. Nichola truly loved her best friend and service dog “G” (short for Georgina). They were inseparable for 11 years and did everything together. A true Brit through and through, Nichola left England in her teen years for a holiday in California. After some months she settled in, and lived in California for 25 years. While there she was a nanny for an autistic child for one year, then a live-in nanny for Gunner Sixx (Nikki Sixx son) for three years, after which she went on to managing veterinary clinics, which then led to dog training for many years. Unfortunate circumstances caused Nichola to leave California. Over time she met her current husband Jim, in Michigan. They were together for two and a half years, then wed on June 21, 2019. They purchased a home out in the country, from which they were to expand their animal rescue. Nichola always had a love for animals since childhood, and art as well. Nichola was an artist in her spare time. She was also fond of cooking and gardening, fishing, boating, being at the beach, and helping those less fortunate. Preceded in death by her mum Carol Hart (Lancaster) Survived by her husband, James Toomey; brother, Christian Hart; father, Phillip Hart; stepson, Nicholas Toomey; niece, Francesca; and beloved service dog G.
