Nathaniel H. Gillette, 93, of Holland,Ohio passed away on January 20, 2017.” He was born the son of Palmer and Elena (Baylor) Gillette on November 9, 1923 in Willoughby, Ohio.” During WWII, he was a scout in the Infantry in France, Germany, and Austria.” After the war, he became a self employed contractor in the Toledo area.” His projects ranged from small homes to custom built homes.” He was passionate about woodworking, including crafting family heirlooms from the walnut trees which had been planted at his home prior to the Civil War. Nathaniel is survived by his wife of 26 years, Eleanor Gillette; children, Mary Catherine (Danny) Black and David (Melinda) Gillette; and grandchildren, Faith, Christa, Adam, Isaac, Nathaniel, Amelia, and Audrey (Todd).” Eleanor lovingly shared her large family with Nathaniel including sons, Mike (Diane) Williams, Don (Linda) Williams, and Tim Williams; grandchildren, Kinda (Larry), Angie (Poe), Ross (Jen), Carrie (Jake), Mike, and Katie; great grandchildren, Jesse (Amanda), Gracie, Joey, Kailey (Jason), Kupono, Kahe, Tati, Sebbie, Lucy, Ellie, Brady, Luke, Zoe, Sam, and Olivia; and great great grandchildren, Kainoa and Halia. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11 AM at Christian Fellowship, 6711 Pilliod Rd., Holland, Ohio.
