Nancy Geho Mccoy

February 23, 1943 — May 2, 2025

Nancy Hones Geho McCoy, a proud Toledoan, passed away at the age of 82, exactly as she wished—surrounded by love. Born to Harry and Jane Hones (both deceased) on February 23, 1943, Nancy graduated from Woodward High School in 1960. She retired on June 30, 2006, in Atlanta, just shy of 40 years with her company, returning to her hometown of Toledo in September of the same year.

Nancy was more than just a constant smile and a woman with unmatched wit; she was a mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Her life was filled with laughter and meaningful relationships. Her successes were rooted in her experiences, particularly her time at Owens Illinois/Nekoosa/Georgia Pacific, where she forged lasting friendships.

An extrovert who loved music, Nancy was as successful in her personal life as she was in her professional career. Nancy enjoyed her career and chaired many company-wide parties and dances, often preferring to celebrate others rather than her own successes. She was one of two people to receive a Georgia Pacific 30-year service award. Nancy was an active member of her Golden Emblem Club, serving in several officer capacities, most recently as the V.P. of Programs.

Nancy's adventures took her on many trips throughout the U.S. and Canada, specifically anywhere she could drive, made even better with a buddy or a set of feet on her dash. She enjoyed watching her boys play hockey, holiday meals, sharing funny family memories, anything Olympic related (especially ice skating), going to the movies, K-dramas, FaceTiming her great-grandchildren, playing dice games with her friends, and remaining ready to show a funny or slightly inappropriate video or meme. She never missed sending a card to loved ones for any and every holiday deserving. Memories will live on of her adorned in her signature shade of lipstick and a good toque.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John Hones. She is survived by her sons, Mike (Kelli) Nichols, John and Don; Mike’s children, Kelsie and Ashleigh Nichols-Tresso; and her two great-grandchildren, Tucker and Parker Tresso. She is also survived by her brother, Bill (Amy) Hones and their children, Daniel (Paige) and Joyce (Evan); loving sister-in-law, Ruth Hones; and her daughters, Laura (Stephen), Suzanne, Ellen (Jacob) and their children. And her dearest friends, AM, Sue, Carol, Kathy, and Theresa.

Nancy's legacy of laughter, love, and cherished memories will live on in the hearts and many stories told by those who knew her. She will be remembered for her constant smile, her wit, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, by invitation only.
