Molly Sherry (17 November 1952 – 8 August 2021) was a beautiful soul who spent her life caring for others. She was the daughter of Jessie Irene Vaughn and Ralph Cleo Doren, who predeceased her. Molly’s career was in nursing, including long-term employment at St. Lukes Hospital, and she also worked at aged care and correctional facilities. Molly loved Rock N Roll Music, and often described herself as a “rock chick.” She read many autobiographies of musicians, had an encyclopedic knowledge of Rock N Roll history, and saw countless musical concerts. Molly loved to tell the story about how her future husband Dr. Mark Sherry proposed in the most romantic time and place: at the Eiffel Tower in Paris on Christmas Eve. The two of them traveled often, both in the US and other countries, including England, Ireland, France, Italy, New Zealand and Australia. Molly was dearly loved by family and friends. She was always quick with a funny story and her hearty laugh warmed people’s hearts. She also enjoyed Bravo TV, and made personal friendships with some of the stars, including one who mentioned her in a book, and others who often wrote to her. When she heard about her husband’s students who were struggling with homesickness or poverty, she would often take them out or give them a home-made meal. Molly also loved cats and she had many of them over the years, including Beeper, Indy, Freeway, Sissy, Sassy Sue The Weather Cat, and many others. She also had a special place in her heart for German Shepherds, particularly her darling dog Eric. She is dearly missed by many. May her soul Rest In Peace.
