Miranda "Mandy" Benner

Miranda Lynn Benner, 43, of Jasper, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023, surrounded by family.

Mandy was a kind and gentle soul. She grew up in Lyons, Ohio and at the age of fourteen she met her life partner, Brian McCowan. They would go on to have 3 wonderful boys, Christian, Caylob, and Corbin. She stayed home with the children while Brian would work to support them all. She raised their boys well, taking care of them, providing meals and lots of yummy homemade desserts, always keeping the house clean.

She loved to play with her two grandbabies, Summer and Cayden McCowan. She crafted dollhouses for Summer and would spend hours pushing Cayden on the swing. She always brought over new toys for them to play with and clothes for them to wear. She loved a good bargain and was always excited to tell you how great of a deal she got.

At a party you would find Mandy playing with the kids. Whether it was a child she’s never met before, or someone she knew, she was always there to sing, dance, color, or play make believe with them. She would be the first to hold a baby so the parents could eat and would offer to make a plate and feed the children. She loved being around children and was a child at heart.

Mandy loved to do crafts. She made doll house furniture, painted signs for her grandbabies, and loved organizing their rooms. She collected toys and was often excited to share her newest finds. She had created perfect playrooms, both indoors and out.

Mandy, a loving partner, mother, and grandmother, left behind her husband, Brian McCowan; 3 sons, Christain, Caylob (Tess), and Corbin; her two grandchildren, Summer (Sunshine) and Cayden (Jr); her faithful dog, Duke, along with many others who love and will miss her dearly; mother, Alicia; in-laws, Teresa (Denny) and David (Robin); brother, Brian (Heather); sisters, Dawn (Scott), Sabrina (Greg) and Davina (Raymond); grandma, Classie; nephews and nieces, Logan, Jake, Mark, Marah, Devin, Avin, Lavina, Liam, Cody, Courtney, Caitlyn, Kade, Conner, Brendan, Cameron and Blake. Mandy was preceded in death by her brother, Toby

Mandy's last selfless act was organ donation and saved lives on July 30, 2023. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
