Michael Wayne Walker

August 19, 1947 — February 9, 2022

Michael Wayne Walker of Sylvania, Ohio passed away on February 9, 2022 after a brief illness. He is survived by his significant other, Nancy Shaver, Sylvania, Ohio; sister Chris (Darrell) Fry of Michigan City, IN; nieces Jennifer (Craig) Bishop of PawPaw, MI, Erin (Gabe) Fry-Lawton of Michigan City, IN; great nieces Maya Bishop (fiancé Matt Henson) of PawPaw, MI and Willa Lawton, of Michigan City, IN, and great nephew Miles Walker of Lawton of Michigan City, IN. Michael was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Janet Walker. Michael graduated from Purdue University and attained a Masters Degree in Audiology. He work over 20 years at the Toledo Clinic, then owned his own business, Hearing Associates. Upon retiring, he pursued his passion of photography, especially that of nature, animals, old barns, farm machinery, and people; he won several awards, including the 2005 "Toledo Friends of Photography Award" at the Toledo Museum of Art. Michael was dedicated to those he loved, and would share his time and talents endlessly, including spending countless hours restoring Nancy's parent's photos that had been damaged in a fire. Michael’s wishes were to have no services. The family would like to give their heartfelt thank you to Heritage Village of Waterville and the staff for all their loving care. Per Michael's love of animals, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Toledo Humane Society, or Doctors Without Borders.
