Michael A. Putman

Dec 17, 1955 — Jul 11, 2026

Michael Andrew Putman, 70, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on December 17, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio, Mike lived a life defined by hard work, unwavering devotion to his family, and lasting friendships. He shared 51 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Wanda (Salyer) Putman. Together, they built a family rooted in love, laughter, and cherished traditions.

Mike was a proud husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

A dedicated entrepreneur, Mike owned and operated Affordable Body and Paint, where he earned the respect of customers and colleagues through his craftsmanship, honesty, and strong work ethic. He took great pride in his business and the relationships he built throughout the community.

Outside of work, Mike embraced life with enthusiasm and had a remarkable gift for bringing people together. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, racing cars, and had a lifelong admiration for wolves, which reflected the strength and loyalty he valued. Hidden Lake Campground was one of his favorite places, where he and Wanda spent countless weekends surrounded by family and friends. Mike was known for turning ordinary weekends into unforgettable gatherings, hosting annual chili parties, pig roasts, and cookouts where everyone was welcome, no one left hungry, and laughter was always plentiful. Whether he was preparing meals, sharing a beer around the campfire, floating in the pond, or simply enjoying the company of those he loved, Mike made everyone feel like family. He also had a passion for classic cars and proudly organized Make-A-Wish charity car shows, combining his love of automobiles with his desire to give back to children and families in need. His generosity, hospitality, and ability to create lasting memories brought people together and left an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Charles Putman; his mother and step-father, Phyllis (Roy) Ellsworth; and his siblings, Jim Putman, Cindy Putman, Chuck Putman, and Cheryl Putman.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Wanda (Salyer) Putman; his son, John (Brooke) Putman; his daughter, Jamie Putman; special sister-in-law Sarah 'Lisa' Salyer whom he loved like a daughter; his beloved grandchildren, Caleb (Jasmine), Cooper, Salyer, and Paisley; and his great-granddaughter, Azalea.

Mike will be remembered for his generous heart, quick smile, unwavering loyalty, and the love he gave so freely to those around him. His legacy lives on through his family, the friendships he cultivated, and the countless lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever ride beside those who loved him.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.
