Michael Joseph Moran, 80, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away after eight long years of battling health issues on December 29, 2024, and is now at peace.
Born in Toledo, Ohio on August 01, 1944, to Thomas and Marie Moran, Michael was the eighth of nine children. As the son of an Irish immigrant, he was proud of his heritage. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and went to work at Willys Overland, eventually becoming an Area Manager for Jeep’s Body Shop and retiring after 43 years. Michael enjoyed being outside, a good bourbon, Notre Dame football, his many dogs, and spending time with family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Michael is survived by his cherished wife of 31 years, Kathleen; his brother Thomas (Barbara), James (Mary) Moran; and sisters Marilyn Johnoff and Joan Moran; his children Michael Moran Jr. (Michelle) and Beth (Ronald) Jay; as well as grandchildren Corey (Kate) West, Michael Moran III, Madelyn, Abigail Jay, and great-grandchildren Joseph, Ella, and Frederick West.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Marie, as well as his sisters Charla, Corene Biebesheimer, Phyllis Dailey, and brother Charles (who passed on January 3, 2025).
Michael's life was a testament to resilience, dedication, and the warmth of family bonds. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Michael Moran and his brother Charles Moran will be held Friday, January 31, 2025. The family will welcome guests at 10:00 am and services will follow at 11:00 am at The Historic Church of St. Patrick’s, downtown Toledo. A celebration of life for all of Michael’s friends and family will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Club 16, 316 South King Road, Holland, Ohio 43528.
