Matthew Lamar Taylor

Matthew Lamar Taylor was born on September 16, 1981 to the union of Rebecca and the late Kevin Taylor. He peacefully departed this life surrounded by his family and friends on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

Matthew attended Start High School and Toledo Electrical JATC. He was employed by Local 8 as an electrician since 2010.

One of Matthew’s greatest gifts, talents and hobbies was helping others (especially with special projects). He was a free-spirit whose infectious smile would light up any room he walked in. Matthew enjoyed spending time with his fiancée, Alissa, son, Jo-el, family and friends. Matthew loved to travel and party. He also enjoyed attending Ohio State Buckeyes and Dallas Cowboys football games.

Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Kevin Taylor.

He is survived by his fiancée, Alissa Miranda; mother, Rebecca Taylor; brother, Joshua (Dalacie) Taylor; children, Karina and Kevin Taylor, Emma Frost and Jo-el Escobar; his dog, Ace Boogie; and nieces and nephews, Anthony, Marcello, Masi, and Joshua Jr. Matthew is also survived by sister/cousins, Tanya and Tarrah Ridley and a host of many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who love him and will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held 4 - 11 PM on February 11, 2023 at: IBEW Local #8, 807 Lime City Rd. Rossford, OH 43460.
