Mary Ellen Walker passed away on August 26, 2020, at the age of 85. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 13, 1934. Growing up, Mary loved the Southwest and spent many summers in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she met her best friend and beloved husband Bill Walker. They were married 56 years before his passing in March 25, 2015. Mary and Bill lived in many places ultimately moving to Amarillo, Texas (where she says her heart was) until Bills passing in 2015. Mary taught school children in Old Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico and taught catechism and played to organ for her church. She often recalled how she really loved to teach. She co-owned a Radiator Shop business with her husband Bill. Mary worked on cars, pulled gas tanks and radiators and could work alongside anyone doing the same job. She was an avid gardener and loved animals, especially her Shih Tzus. She wrote many stories about them as well. She loved camping and the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Rose Martin and brother-in-law Jack Martin (Boulder, Colorado) whom she thought more of a big brother than an in-law. Also, preceding her in death were her parents William H. and Rose E. (Wally) Pinault (Omaha, Nebraska) and one daughter Kimberly Michelle Walker. Mary is survived by her daughters Kathleen Ann Burkett (Scott), Karen Elizabeth Roybal, Kristina Stanley (Dan), Kevin William Walker, and Kelly Nicole Everitt (Brian). a niece Barbara Flaherty (David), two nephews Bill Martin (Nancy), Joe Martin (Karen) and many Walker nieces and nephews in Texas and in the surrounding areas. She also leaves seven grandchildren, four great granddaughters and one great grandson. Mary will be cremated by Cremation Society of Toledo, 7210 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528. She will be interned along side her husband Bill at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
