Mary Lee Smeltzer

On Wednesday July 25, 2018, Mary Lee (Donegan) Smeltzer, loving wife and mother of four boys, passed away at the age of 82 at her residence in Oregon, Ohio. Mary was born on November 25, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to Otto and Katherine (Witaschek) Donegan. She attended Waite High School graduating in 1953. On August 19, 1955 she married William Smeltzer. While raising her boys in Curtice, Ohio, Mary also volunteered at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Then when Bill’s job transferred him they moved to Reynoldsburg, Ohio where they enjoyed many years together. Mary loved all of her family and friends unconditionally! She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her four boys, William Jr. (Linda), Chris (Karen), Keith, and Steven, grandchildren, Tricia, Briana, Shawn, Andrea (Tony) Archibald, and great grandchildren, Zaedin, Aiden, Harmony Rose, and Ayla. Also surviving are her brothers, Otto, Marty (Carmen), Larry (Dick), and her sister, Kate (Ron) Gamble, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William, brother, John and sister, Imogene Fitts and brother-in-law, Russ Fitts. A special thank you goes out to Cheryl Dunbar for all of her help in taking care of Mary these past few years. A Celebration of Mary’s Life including lunch will be held August 4, 2018 at Bayside Boardwalk 2759 Seaman Rd. Oregon, Ohio at 1:00pm.
