Mary Jane Myrice was born on August 6, 1937 in Bowling Green Ohio, and passed away on August 8, 2023. Mary Jane graduated from Bowling Green High, received her Bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University, and Masters from Case Western University.
Mary Jane's career as a librarian was spent with the Napoleon School District, mostly driving the bookmobile. She retired at the age of 52.
She was predeceased by her long time significant other, Tom Hardy. They enjoyed boating on the river, hanging out with friends, and garage saling. She also loved to travel; Hawaii was her favorite destination.
Mary Jane had a lifelong love of cats, with cats being the center of her universe. She was a generous donator to many animal foundations. Being a librarian, she also loved reading. She spent a large portion of every day reading mysteries, newspapers, and working word puzzles. Mary Jane was a long-time hospital volunteer, and was a member of Grand Rapids Presbyterian church.
She is survived by her sister, Josephine Vernon (Myrice); niece Jannette & Pat Quackenbush; nephew, Paul Vernon & Christie Bennett, and Richard Hardy; friends, Barb and Sue & family, plus many other family members and friends. She had a great life.
