Mary Lee (Witcher) Lindsey departed this life at her home on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 4:21am at the age of 84. She was born on November 29, 1924 to the late Josepheus and Flora (Kasey) Witcher in Franklin County, Virginia. Mary Lee spent her childhood in Roanoke, Virginia and was educated in Roanoke City Schools. She was married to George Lindsey and with that union they had a daughter, Lillian Lindsey. George and Lillian both precede Mary in death. Also preceding her in death are 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Mrs. Lindsey had many jobs as a Domestic Engineer Specialist in the Virginia and in the Washington D.C. areas. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and a listening ear with a friendly smile. She will be greatly missed. Those left to cherish her memory are; a sister, Gaither Coates of Baltimore, MD.; nieces, Wanda (John) Divers of Charlotte, NC, Linda (Ralph) Carter, Lisa Coates all of Baltimore, MD, Rhonda Butler of Roanoke, VA, Lavern (Bradley) Megginson of San Diego, CA, Stephanie (Anthony) Tolliver of Waco, TX, Roberta Dailey of Minneapolis, MN, and Dawn (Joe) Wilson of Greenboro, NC; nephews, Sterling Fizer, Darryl Witcher, and Darryl Saunders all of Roanoke, VA, Nathaniel Witcher of Minneapolis, MN. Other survivors are; special friends, Edith Gholston, Mr. & Mrs. James Bradley, Mr. & Mrs. David Flores and the loyal congregation of Jehovahs Witness. The family is grateful for all acts of kindness shown during this time of bereavement.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 2pm at the Kingdom of Jehovahs Witness Church, 139 Richards Rd. Toledo, 43607. The reverend Matthew Neal will officiate. The Cremation Society of Toledo has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Lindsey. Online condolences may be made below.
