Mary "Joyce" Nelms

Mary Joyce (McCarthy) Nelms of Maumee, Ohio, passed away on April 20, 2023 at the Lakes of Monclova at the age of 90. She was born on March 25, 1933 in Deroit, Michigan to Joseph and Eleanor (Logan) McCarthy. Joyce was married to Meredith "Dee" Nelms in 1964 until his death in 2012. They fostered hundreds of children through Catholic Charities and St. Anthony's Villa. Joyce later became a realtor in the Toledo area for many years. They relocated and she was also a realtor and business broker in Roswell, Georgia, a career she was very proud of.

Joyce is survived by her four children, Rick (Anita) Conley, Vicki (Rick) May, Pamela Nelms and Lisa (Michael) Justice. She was Nan to nine grandchildren, Mike (Meghan) Conley, Nicole (Ryan) Janicki, Megan (Travis) Banta, David (Suzanne) Simon, Jared (Christina) Simon, Noelle (Nick) Scott, Jim (Stephanie) May, Allison (Dan) Kuzma, and Michael (Katie) May; 25 great grandchildren; and loving sister, Donna (Rich) Loomis. She was preceded in death by her husband Dee and brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Marge McCarthy.
