Mary Helen Jones

Mary Helen Jones, 91, passed away in her home on September 25, 2022. She was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on May 1, 1931 to John D. and Mary B. Harrington. Mary Helen graduated from St. Agnes High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Following her graduation, she worked as a Dental Assistant until she met her lifelong sweetheart, William L. Jones Sr. and they were married on October 11, 1952. They enjoyed 72 years together, married 68 of those years until Bill’s passing on June 6, 2021. Bill’s job took them to New Orange, NJ, Cleveland, OH and Akron, OH, until they settled in Sylvania, OH September 1, 1964, where they remained for 58 years in the same house.

While they lived in Akron, Mary Helen was Garden President for Revere Rd. Once they moved to Sylvania, she was a member of the 9 Holers at Highland Meadows Golf Club where they were members for 55 years. Mary Helen loved organizing the birthday lunches for her lady friends, playing tennis, and was an avid garage saler.

Mary Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and great-grandson, Nolan Dzikowicz. She is survived by her 6 children, William L. Jones Jr. (Joyce), Tim Jones (Lori), Ann Stockman (Mel), Mike Jones (Linda), Vicky Wagner (Kevin), and Daniel Jones (Sandra). Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Per her request, services will be private.
