Mary Kay Cummings

September 14, 1945 — September 8, 2023

Mary Kay (Beitz) Cummings, age 77, of Whitehouse OH, passed away in Hospice care on Friday September 8, 2023 from complications of a short battle with Dementia diagnosis after a surgery.

Mary Kay was born on September 14, 1945, to Wilbur and Edna (Brieske) Beitz in Saginaw, MI. She was a National Honor Society member, graduating from St. Andrew’s High School in 1963. Mary Kay attended Ferris State and Delta College and was Secretary for her sorority Delta Zeta - Zeta Nu Chapter. She returned home, married her former husband John Reimus, and began her career at The Wickes Corporation, Bender & Louden, and Try Hours, Inc. where she spent her entire career in Logistics Management. She was a member of Traffic Club and spent many hours on the golf course and bowling with dear friends and family.

She retired and began to truly enjoy what filled her with joy - her grandchildren. “Grandma Tobes”, as the kids lovingly nicknamed her, would always take the kids for a sleepover or a movie. She was there for countless games: soccer, basketball, baseball, football, cheerleading and rooted for all of them always and made each one of them feel special. She was there to wipe the tears and to laugh at goofy jokes and marveled as they grew into the young men and women they are today. She was such a proud mother and grandma, and we will forever miss her encouragement and laughter.

Mary Kay is survived by daughters Stacey (John) Tate, Rebecca (Jim) Chick, grandchildren Jamin, Morgan (Justin Kleparek), Jonathan (Emily), Payton (Avery McDonald), Maxwell, Brady, and Jack. Great-grandchildren Chance, Jacqueline, Henry, Lily, and Cash, her brother Bill and sister-in-law Lynette Beitz also survive as do many cherished nieces, nephews and dear cousins. She was pre-deceased by her parents, sisters Christine Brass and Barbara Lake, nephew Tom Hardt and her beloved husband Norman R. Cummings whom she lost at the age of 45. There is no greater reunion than Mary Kay and Norm. Those who knew them can smile knowing they are together celebrating for eternity in the arms of Jesus.
