Mary Ann Bernia

Mary Ann Bernia, age 78, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away with her loving daughter by her side, on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan, on November 19, 1945, to the late Herbert and Anna (Hansen) LaPorte.

Mary enjoyed gardening, crosswords, cooking shows, and shopping.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Everett and Donald LaPorte; sisters, Shirley Kohnke and Vera Stevens. Mary is remembered and missed by her daughter, Annmarie “Annie” (Dru) Trace; granddaughter, Ashley Trace, all of Toledo, Ohio; brother, Herbert “Bud” LaPorte, of Muskegon, Michigan; sister, Camille Anderson of Twin Lake, Michigan; several nieces and nephews.

Mary’s family would like to thank the following people; her lifelong friend, Ellen, Keith, Tita, Brenda, Greg, Andrea, and her “chauffeur” Karen.

A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at a later date.
