Mary Ann Eitniear

Mary Ann (Karnowski) Eitniear, age 76, of Toledo, OH, passed away May 30, 2025, at Flower Hospital, Sylvania, Ohio. Mary Ann was born on May 31, 1948, in Toledo, the daughter of Stella and Warren Karnowski. She was a 1966 graduate of DeVilbiss High School.

She was independent and strong-willed woman, throughout her life. This allowed her to be the successful and proud business owner of Mary Ann’s Carryout. The store was a staple, for the area, often called “The Corner Store” where stories and friendships were made that have stood the test of time.

An adoring Grandmother, she was always supporting her grandchildren. Whether it be through attending sporting events, playing games together at the kitchen table or advancing her social media knowledge to stay current with their lives, her love was felt every day.

Left to cherish her memory include her sister, Sharon (Damon) Prieto; children, Kevin Eitniear, Melisa (Steve) Rieger and Chad (Emily) Eitniear; grandchildren, Danielle (Austin) Herron, Taylor (Matthias) Wenzinger, Ashley (fiancé, Tanner Prentice) Rieger, Stevie Rieger, Alex Eitniear, Conner Eitniear, Jackson Eitniear, and Austin Eitniear; and great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Faye. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Stella and Warren; brothers, John Karnowski and Warren Karnowski Jr.

Although Mary Ann is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm, at the Maumee American Legion, 204 Illinois Ave, Maumee, OH 43537.
