passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. After fighting six different types of cancer over the past 25 years, he lost his battle with the seventh one. Marv was born on June 6, 1946, in Rockford, Illinois to Ralph and Elva (Schelling) Cramer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda, and an infant sister.
Marv was married for 43 years to Cheryl (Cheri Wilson) Cramer, who survives him.
Other survivors include his children, Becky Cramer, Jay Cramer, Melissa (Chris) Szajko and Sarah (Thomas) Hollowell; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and his brother, Roger (Sue) Cramer.
Marv graduated from Auburn High School in Rockford, IL in 1964. After graduation he attended Rockford Business College, where he earned his Associates Degree in Business Management. Over the course of his career, he managed several lumber companies: 84, Wicks, Wolohan Lumber, and Martin's Hardware Store in South Bend, IN. He retired from Martin’s Hardware Store in 2013.
Marv was an avid sports enthusiast! He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, especially football. His dedication to football began when he started playing in his youth. Marv loved listening to his favorite band, The Moody Blues, with family and friends. He loved all things Corvette and Harley Davidson, and had a vast collection to prove it! He was a member of the Michiana Corvette Club and the Harley Davidson Chapter in Elkhart, IN. Marv and Cheri had a group of friends that they took motorcycle trips with, and they went on some fabulous journeys over the years. This included numerous trips to Sturgis, South Dakota to attend motorcycle rallies.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 28, 2025 at The Clubhouse in Continental, Ohio from 1-3pm.
