Marlene Rita (Moore) Watts passed away July 19, 2019 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Marlene was born on June 11, 1946 in Toledo to Rita (Gray) and George S. “Red” Moore Jr. She was the fourth of seven children. Marlene attended St. Charles Catholic grade school, Notre Dame Academy and graduated from McAuley High School in 1964. Marlene grew up and spent most of her life in south Toledo. She enjoyed going to Teen Town as a teenager. She worked at Churchills Grocery Store on Byrne Road. She also worked as a custodian at Notre Dame Academy for 20 years. She really enjoyed working with the girls who did work-study over the years. She loved the beach and visiting Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. When the kids were little, she enjoyed going boating on the lake, fishing for perch and pulling the kids who were tubing behind the boat. She also enjoyed having all of the family over to swim in the backyard pool. She was an excellent cook and baker and she loved cooking for her kids and grand-kids. Those were her best days. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marcia Moore; and brother-in-law, Dale Errington. She is survived by Lisa Dittman Hamilton (Terry); Todd and Greg (Sarah) Dittman and Billy Watts; Carrie (Chad) Repass, and Megan Campbell, as well as 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, George “Cork” Moore, Carolyn (Bernie) Cron, Sharon Errington, Charles (Victoria) Moore, and Mary Anne (Gary) Cullum. She is also survived by her special friend and caregiver, Debbie. Marlene enjoyed each and every day and lived it to its fullest. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, August 25, at 2 p.m. at 7736 W. Bancroft St., Toledo, OH. All are welcome to celebrate with us!
