Marilyn Kay Young, a beloved mother, grandmother, "Gigi" (great-grandmother), sister, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Toledo.
Born on February 14, 1955, in Loudonville, Ohio, Marilyn was a Toledo resident for most of her life. Marilyn was a graduate of Bowling Green State University and dedicated her professional life to public service, working as a supervisor for parole officers for juvenile delinquents. She approached her work with a commitment to both accountability and helping young people find a better path. Family and friendship were the greatest sources of Marilyn's joy.
She is survived by her one and only son, John Young, and his wife, Jessica Young. Her legacy of love continues through her cherished grandchildren, Kody Robinson (Catrina Robinson), Madison Doriot, and Jada Young, as well as her two beloved great-grandchildren, Malina Robinson and Niko Robinson. She also leaves behind her sister, Cindy Karl (Mark Karl), and her two dear friends, Gayle Robinson and Gayle Christopher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula Lang and John Lang.
Marilyn will be remembered for her vibrant passions: her unwavering support for the Michigan Wolverines, her love for NBA Basketball, and her fascination with peacocks. She cherished spending time with her family, especially during the holidays, and always looked forward to a great dinner at Cracker Barrel. Her warm presence and spirited nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
