Marguerite Peg Johnston

Marguerite “Peg” Johnston, 94, of Toledo, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2012 while at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.Peg was born in Aurora, IL on July 5, 1918 to Paul and Mayta Berger. Peg married George A. Johnston on April 19, 1941 at Collingwood Presbyterian Church in Toledo, Ohio. They were married for 45 years. Peg was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Maumee, Ohio for over 50 years and enjoyed participating in the Order of Eastern Star as well as Young at Heart. She most enjoyed fishing, knitting, cooking, and spending time with her family. Peg is survived by her daughter Barbara Lammie; her three grandchildren Michael (Lori) Grimes, Teresa (Matthew) Lenehan, and Gigi Gordon; her great grandchildren Chloe, Olivia, Noah, Jack, and Maximus; her brother-in-law Ralph Osborne; and her nieces and nephews Peggy Jane, Larry, Kenny, and Andy Osborne.Peg is preceded in death by her husband George A. Johnston; her parents Paul and Mayta Berger; her son, James Johnston; her brother Bill Berger; her sister Dorothy Osborne; and her grandson Joseph Stopera Jr.Memorial services will be held on September 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church at 200 East Broadway, Maumee, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
