Marguerite A. Czarnecki

July 4, 1940 — May 9, 2022

Marguerite Czarnecki, 81, died Monday, May 9 following a long illness. Margie was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 4, 1940, daughter of Charles and Erma Milka. As a fourth of July baby, Margie really was a firecracker. Anyone who knew her would tell you that nothing could stymie Margie’s strong will and determined spirit. In 1975, she founded Lindsay Property Management, the rental division of Lindsay realty, and ran the company for the next 30 years. She rightly took great pride in this accomplishment, as the job was not for the faint of heart. Particularly as a woman at a time when women were still routinely turned away by credit card companies and mortgage lenders, managing hundreds of rentals took brains and unusual fortitude, traits Margie possessed in abundance. A life-long animal lover, she gave very generously to charities that supported her passion. To her own pets, she provided the best home any animal could hope for. Margie took her dogs to work with her every day and her colleagues were fond of telling her “Marge, if reincarnation is real, I want to come back as one of your dogs.” Margie spent her final months at The Grove at Oakleaf Village and the family extends our deepest gratitude to the staff there as well as to the staff of Ohio Living Hospice, particularly Shenese Thomas and Sean Sullivan, for the skilled and gentle care they lavished upon Margie. Margie is survived by her daughters Carrie (Michael) Craun and Amy (Patrick) Gustine and grandchildren, Anna, John and Andrew. Margie was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children, Toledo attorney John Czarnecki. There will be a graveside service for friends and family. Please reach out to one of her daughters for details or contact The Cremation Society of Toledo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Toledo Humane Society.
