Margaret Ann Schott

Margaret “Ann” Schott, 76, died at 1:11 pm, September 12th, 2025, at Arbors at Sylvania long term care home, after a long battle with COPD. She was born in Eldorado, IL, on January 26th, 1949. She was the youngest of three children, born to Carl E. And Lois (Carner) Tucker.

Ann attended some of her younger school years in Eldorado, IL, but then moved to Pontiac, IL. She graduated in 1967 from Pontiac Township High School. Ann married Larry F. Schott in 1968, they relocated to Anchorage, Alaska and raised their family. Ann and Larry decided to pursue life separately in 1991. Ann was a dedicated stay at home mother and housewife. Her children feel blessed to have had her at home growing up and strongly feel that made an impact in their lives as adults. She had various jobs after her children were grown, but her favorite one was in the admissions department at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, her daughters’ Alma Mater. Ann was an avid plant grower and passed down that love and knowledge to her daughter. She was also a lifelong animal lover and her and her beloved dog Copper were inseparable. At her passing she had a cat named Peyton, who is 11, that still lives with her daughter and her family.

She is survived by her older brother, James (Connie) Tucker of Elgin, OR; two children, son, Mark (Catalina Gabriel) Schott, of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Monica (Joseph) Swartz, of Toledo, OH; 3 grandchildren, Haley Drake of San Antonio, TX, Jackson Drake of Toledo, OH, and Marina Schott of Tucson, AZ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her older sister Carl “Jean” Higgs.
