Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Margaret K. Robb, died on September 27, 2025. She was 99.
Margaret, “Peg” was the heart of our family. She raised five children, Nancy J. Shafer, David L. Robb, Jim S. Robb (died Sept 1, 2025), Cindy R. Kelly (Rick), and Scott B. Robb (Bethany), to be independent and thoughtful adults. Margaret was born Margaret Klein to Ed and Stella on October 13, 1925, in Pittsburgh, PA. Most of her childhood was spent in Ottawa, IL. She was raised a great Christian Baptist and was a wonderful piano accompanist at her church. Mom worked on LST Landing Craft Mfg. during WWII, was a private secretary to the vice president of Mars Incorporated in Chicago, IL, and worked in administrative office of Lions Department Store in Toledo, OH.
Margaret earned an associate’s degree from Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA. She was married for 50 years to her soulmate, Harry Daniel Robb, who preceded her in death on October 22, 2001. They were married on October 21, 1950.
As a grandmother to 10 and a great grandmother to 12 she was always a great conversationalist, always taking great interest in what they had to say. She loved all of them so much!
She met Jay Coffman 20 years ago and they shared many great times together along with nightly phone calls.
Margaret always enjoyed playing cards and was an exceptional bridge player, playing in many different bridge groups over her lifetime.
At the time of her death, mom held the title of “oldest member” at First Presbyterian Church at 99, almost 100 years old.
Our family would like to thank all the staff at Wolf Creek Retirement Community for the wonderful way they treated mom during her stay since 2019.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Broadway St. Maumee, OH 43537 on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 3 PM. Visitation will be from 2 – 3 pm.
